Tom Hiddleston Speaks Out On “James Bond” Rumours
Even before Daniel Craig announced that he was fed up with playing the gun-slinginglothario, the world of showbiz was buzzing with rumours about who was going to play Bond next.
And when he did say the nasty things about acting the role, even more people went even more mad. With there being a huge buzz around the prospect of there being a black Bond, Idris Elba was amongst the favourites to take over but now it looks like there’s a new contender…
Tom Hiddleston (who I’ve always backed, incidentally) has spoken out about taking on the role and it sounds like he really wants it!
In an interview withThe Sunday Times, Hiddleston addressed the rumours, saying:
“Im a huge fan of the series. We all went to see Spectre when we were shooting Skull Island in Hawaii. I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity.”
He brilliantly plays like the best character in the whole Marvel cinematic universe, after all and, if you’re still not convinced, get yourself down to the BBC iPlayer and watch The Night Manager – it’s really really really good and seriouslymakes it look like he’s up for playing the iconic agent.
Also, he’s down for getting all buff and such like a Bond should be…
“And Im very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”
I’d love to see him take the Walther from Craig. He tops my list, anyway. Others on the list are MichaelFassbender, Henry Cavill, Idris Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch.
